American Actress Jordana Brewster hails from the US. In 1995, Jordana Brewster made her television debut in an episode of All My Children. Jordana Brewster then landed a recurring part as Nikki Munson in As the World Turns, which led to a nomination for the 1997 Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Teen Performer.

Brewster’s big break came from playing Mia Toretto in the 2001 action movie The Fast and the Furious. Jordana Brewster entered the world in Panama City on April 26, 1980. Her father, American investment banker Alden Brewster, is an investment banker, and her mother, Maria João, was a former Brazilian swimsuit model who posed for Sports Illustrated’s 1978 cover. Kingman Brewster Jr., her paternal grandpa, served as American ambassador to the United Kingdom from 1977 to 1981 and as Yale University’s president from 1963 to 1977.

When Jordana was six years old, her family relocated to Brazil from London, England. At the age of ten, she fled Brazil and relocated to Manhattan, New York City, where Jordana Brewster completed her education at the Professional Children’s School and studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart. In 2003, Brewster earned a B. A. in English literature from Yale University.

Brewster debuted in daytime soap operas as Anita Santos in a single episode of All My Children. Jordana Brewster then appeared on As the World Turns in a recurrent role as Nikki Munson, the disobedient daughter. She made appearances in 104 episodes of the soap opera between 1995 and 2001.

Her debut movie role was in the horror science fiction movie The Faculty (1998), directed by Robert Rodriguez, which also starred Elijah Wood, Josh Hartnett, and Clea Duvall. Kevin Williamson wrote the film. Brewster portrayed the student newspaper’s editor-in-chief and a well-liked, vengeful cheerleading captain in the movie concerning weird happenings involving the professors of an Ohio high school. Despite getting poor reviews, the movie brought in $40 million in North America.

After receiving negative reviews, Annapolis made $7.7 million in its first weekend of sales despite being called “uninspired” by Box Office Mojo.

Brewster then acted alongside Diora Baird, Taylor Handley, and Matt Bomer in the slasher horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006). The Hewitt family kidnapped the four actors who played while traveling across Texas in the movie.

Brewster played the Stanford-educated girlfriend of the titular character, Chuck, in a four-episode arc on the NBC comedy series from 2008 to 2009. In Fast & Furious (2009), the fourth movie in the Fast & Furious franchise, she played Mia Toretto once more.

In an interview with AskMen.com, Brewster discussed how her character changed during the series, saying, “In the first one, I’m more of a wallflower and it’s much more of a girlfriend-type duty, but in [the upcoming movie], I’m more of a woman.

2010 saw Brewster as a guest star in two episodes of Gigantic and appeared in three episodes of Dark Blue as Maria, an art gallery dealer. In the fifth installment of the series, Fast Five (2011), Brewster played Mia once more. This time, the plot deviates from the street racing theme and centers on Diesel, Walker, and Brewster’s characters plotting a heist to make a fortune from a dishonest businessman in Brazil.

Fast Five received favorable reviews and made US$86 million over its first weekend in North America and US$626.1 million globally. Brewster played the lead role of Elena Ramos on the 2012 television series Dallas, which was an updated version of the 1978–1991 CBS original series of the same name that followed the ups and downs of a wealthy Texas family. Overall, reviews for the series were favorable, and it ran until 2014. 

In Fast & Furious 6 (2013), she reprised her role as Mia Toretto, following the last of the wanted fugitives on their robbery from Fast Five. The movie brought in around USD 789 million globally. Brewster reappeared in the following film, Furious 7 (2015), Walker’s last on-screen appearance before he passed away in a single-vehicle collision while the film was still partially shot.

They postponed filming after Walker’s passing to recast the storylines of both Walker’s and Brewster’s characters, ultimately leading to their retirement. Her next role was as a criminal’s girlfriend in the independent action movie American Heist (2014). The movie premiered in ten theaters in North America and the producers also presented it at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Additionally, Brewster portrayed Dusty as a youthful and flirtatious salesperson in the 2015 dark comedy Home Sweet Hell, shown in select cinemas and on VOD. 

From 2016 to 2021

In 2016, Jordana Brewster started playing the recurring character of Nicole Brown Simpson’s sister Denise Brown in the first season of the true crime anthology series American Crime Story, The People v. O. J. Simpson, which focused on the notorious O. J. Simpson murder case. Described as a “big admirer” of executive producer Ryan Murphy, she said of landing the role: “My manager and I created a side-by-side photo edit of me and Denise and we battled hard for it because I always felt like my aunt truly really looked a lot like Denise Brown. All we did was struggle to get that show.

She also starred as Kate Warner in the second season of the ABC anthology crime drama Secrets and Lies. Brewster made a comeback as Mia Toretto in the ninth installment of the franchise, F9, released in 2021, following her absence from the 2017 film The Fate of the Furious. In F9, her elder son Julian had a little role as well.
