Canadian Track and field athlete Camryn Alexis Rogers was born in Richmond, British Columbia. At the 2022 World Athletics Championships, Rogers became the first Canadian woman to medal in a WAC field event with her silver medal in the women’s hammer throw. The COVID-19 epidemic forced the postponement of a large portion of the 2020 athletics season and caused a one-year delay in the 2020 Summer Olympics, which Rogers had wanted to participate in. Rogers won her second women’s hammer throw gold at the 2021 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships with the major competition having resumed in 2021.
