Engin made his career debut in the fantasy series Ruhsar, as a side role. Later he was cast in the series Yeditepe İstanbul, Alacakaranlık. He got his first leading role in the series Kocum Benim.
Moreover, In 2007, Duzyatan played well in Sevgili Dünürüm (a romantic comedy), series Bir Bulut Olsam (2009) as Doctor Serdar Batur. Additionally, he was also cast in Son, Beyzanin Kadinlari, Bir Avuc Deniz, and Affedilmeyen. Their work in Son was so admired internationally that even its adapted version was sold out in the USA, France, Russia, Spain, and the Netherlands. He also played roles in the historical series Yol Ayrimi, Ciragan Baskini, and Hurrem Sultan.
Later, Engin Altan appeared in movies including Beyza’nin Kadinlari, played the role of a disabled person in Cennet (2008), performed in the films Romantik Komedi, New York’ta Beş Minare and Ve Panayır Köyden Gider (2015). He was also cast in the sequel film Romantik Komedi 2: Bekarlığa Veda, in the period film Bu Son Olsun, Bu İşte Bir Yalnızlık Var (based on a novel), and the airforce film Anadolu Kartalları.
