The American stand-up comedian, actor, game show presenter, and voice actor William Billy Gardell most recently portrayed Chicago police officer Michael Biggs on Mike & Molly. Additionally, Billy Gardell played a police officer in twelve episodes of My Name Is Earl. besides playing Lyle Winkler in Sullivan & Son, Gardell provided the voice of Santa in Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas. In the CBS comedy series Bob Hearts Abishola, Billy Gardell also plays the role of Bob Wheeler.
Early Life – Education and Birth Place
Gardell, who was up in Swissvale, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh, studied in 1985 at Winter Park High School in Orange County, Florida. After his parents’ divorce, he was raised in Florida along with his mother, younger brother, and sister. Billy only made summer visits to Pennsylvania after that. Billy Gardell claims that his time spent living in Florida was enjoyable.
He began working in the receiving area of a department store warehouse at the age of 15, where his duties included stacking pallets and unloading trucks. Billy began taking phone calls, putting people in seats, and cleaning restrooms at the neighborhood comedy club Bonkerz in 1987. Billy Gardell took a gamble with other coworkers and on December 28 began doing open-mic nights at the comedy club.
“I couldn’t cover the bet if I didn’t host an open mic night. I kept saying that I would carry it out. They wagered that I wouldn’t,” he clarified. Eventually, he began to open for George Carlin and Dennis Miller.

Bonkerz expressed the support of his grandmother, saying, “She told me when I was 8 years old that I could be a comic,” even though he played a significant role in initiating his humorous career. Notably, Billy wrote and produced a charity rendition of a play called Winter Park Live in the vein of Saturday Night Live, with all earnings going to Comic Relief.
Gardell still appears every week on The DVE Morning Show on her hometown’s WDVE radio station. On April 4, 2008, Gardell made an appearance on a Comedy Central Presents special from 2007. In advertisements for Round Table Pizza, Gardell additionally portrayed the host of the fictional TV show Pizza Talk. Billy Gardell’s comic debut CD, Throwback, was released in 2006.
Alongside Melissa McCarthy, Gardell featured in Mike & Molly from September 2010 until May 2016. Billy Gardell provided the voice of Santa in Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas in November 2011.
